Hi my name is Patty and I started making and decorating cakes about 8 years ago. My cake journey started with my cousin's wedding. They were coming from Canada to get married here in Florida. My Aunt asked me to bake their wedding cake. I was always a good baker, but didn't know anything about cake decorating. I called in the help of a friend of mine who worked at a local bakery. She came and decorated my baked cakes. As she was decorating I thought I could do that and a week after the wedding I took my first Wilton class at the local craft store. After the first class came the second and third and I was hooked. My next dilema was to come up with a really good cake and icing recipe. There's no sense decorating a pretty cake, if it tastes bad, right.
I believe that every cake should be special and no two should be alike. I take alot of time to properly plan and prepare each cake. I take great pride in my baking and decorating and give every cake that I make 110%.
I aspire someday to have my own cake shop and do nothing but bake and decorate huge elaborate fancy cakes each and every day; however, until then I'll just enjoy my hobby one cake at a time.
